Notice Regarding Further Adjustment of Visa Application Requirements

From 24th of August 2022, the Chinese visa application service center in Helsinki decides to adjust visa application requirements under current situations:
1. All persons (including those who intend to go to China for long-term work, and short-term visit in various fields such as business and trade, science and technology, education, sports, culture, and so on) applying for M-, F-, and Z-type visas, are no longer required to provide a PU invitation letter issued by relevant government bodies in China. Family members of the aforementioned individuals (including foreigners who are currently working in China) may apply for visas to live with or visit relatives in China by providing proof of kinship and other relevant materials. Family members include spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and parents of spouses.
2. Family members of Chinese citizens and foreigners with permanent residency status in China may apply for family visitation or reunification visas with proof of kinship (Inc. birth certificate, marriage certificate, Chinese household registration, certificate letters from the local police bureau in China, notarial certificate of kinship, etc.), an invitation letter from relatives in China, and the copy of both sides of the inviter's Chinese ID card, and other application materials. Family members in this case include spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, spouses of children, siblings, grandparents, and grandchildren.
3. Applicants for the crew (C) visa.
4. Long-term overseas students who are going to China for academic education can submit their X1 visa applications to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Application materials include the "Visa Application for Study in China" (JW201/202 Form), school admission notice (freshmen) or return certificate (senior students) and others as required. Families of students studying in China can apply to live with or visit their relatives in China. Visa applications from short-term overseas students for non-academic education (X2 visa) are not accepted at the moment.
5. Holders of valid APEC Business Travel Cards and study residence permits will be allowed to enter China.
6. Visa applicants belonging to the aforementioned categories are to have completed COVID-19 vaccinations approved by China, or by the World Health Organization for emergency or market use, before entry.
7. Visa applications for other visiting purposes which are not mentioned above will not be accepted at the moment.
All applicants are required to fill in the online application form. Applicants need to send the above documents (including Covid-19 proof of vaccination) and make an appointment by email with the visa center in advance, the email address is helsinkicenter@visaforchina.org. Applicants under 14 years old or over 70 years old is not required to come to visa center in person.
If the applicant has a valid visa or residence permit in China, please make a copy and submit it together with other required documents.
In order to ensure everyone's health and safety, please cooperate with the epidemic prevention measures of visa center, wear masks and take a body temperature test. Visa center is currently suspending the on-site assistance in filling out application forms.
The above adjustment is an interim measure. If the policy is adjusted, Visa Center will upgrade the notice in time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
