1. Basic Documents
(1) Passport
The remaining validity of the passport should be at least 6 months and with at least two blank visa pages. For multiple-visa application, the remaining validity of the passport must cover the validity of visa and the duration of stay. For example, if applying for a visa with 6 months validity, multiple entries, and 30 days of each stay, the remaining validity of the passport should be at least 7 months.
A photocopy of the passport's information page.
(2) Visa Application Form and Photo
One completed Visa Application Form and 1 recently-taken colour passport photos (bare-head, full face) against a light background (size: 48mm x 33mm). Please check here for photograph requirements.
You may complete an Online Application Form (where a Visa Centre provides such service), print it out and sign it.
Please remember to bring the completed form to the Visa Centre to submit your application.
(3) Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable for those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
The citizens other than European Union or Shengen Member States should provide the original and copy of the resident permit or Kela Card. The applicants who have entered in Finland free of visa shall provide Finnish entry record, both the original and the copy.
(4) When former Chinese national (including those who were born in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) holding either a foreign passport or a newly-issued passport, applies Chinese visa for the first time after gaining foreign citizenship, the original Chinese passport and a copy of its information page, or the old foreign passport and its information page and a copy of the previous Chinese visas are required.
(5) Child with Chinese descent born either in China or in Finland applies for a Chinese visa for the first time, the Birth Certificate with his / her parents' names on, the original certificate for quitting Chinese nationality and the copies of the above mentioned documents, and the statement written by his / her parents or guardian are required.
(6) Child with Chinese descent born in a third country should make his / her first Chinese visa application in his / her resident country if the Birth Certificate and the certificate for quitting Chinese nationality as mentioned in Article 5 cannot be submitted.
2. Supporting documents
(1) One of the following documents:
a) Foreigners Employment Permit of the People's Republic of China issued by Chinese government authorities for Human Resources and Social Security;
b) Permit for Foreign Experts Working in China issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts;
c) Registration Certificate of Resident Representative Offices of enterprises of foreign countries (regions) issued by Chinese authorities of industrial and commercial administration;
d) An approval document for commercial performances issued by the Chinese government authorities for cultural affairs;
e) Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation
 
We kindly remind you that:
If the applicant with a passport exempt from Chinese visa plans to complete a short-term work in China, the applicant must get the work permit in advance andapplyfor the work visa.
3.Special notes
(1)The invitation letter may be in the form of fax, photocopy or computer printout, but the consular officer may require the applicant to submit the original of the invitation letter.
(2) If necessary, theembassyofficer may require the applicant to provide other proof documents or supplementary materials, or require an interview with the applicant.
(3) Theembassyofficer will decide on whether or not to issue the visa and on its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
