Online Application: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Unable to create an online account.
Please ensure your browser is set to not block pop-ups when creating an account. You will only receive a verification code in your email after completing the security verification in the pop-up window.
2. Unable to log in to your online account.
Please ensure your username and password are correct. If the system displays "Unable to verify," please try visiting another visa application center website, logging in to your account, and filling out a new application form. After successfully switching to the form-filling interface, log out and then try logging in again through our Center website.
3. Unable to view submitted applications online.
If your account is abnormally logged out (crashes) during the form-filling process, the system needs a considerable amount of time to synchronize data. You will not be able to fill out a new form during this time. Please log in again the next day to find your previous application draft to continue completing the online virtual payment and submission.
4. Unable to fill out a new application form.
If the system displays " there is a pending application," it means your previously submitted visa application has not yet been completed. This application may have been submitted to our Center, other visa application centers, or Chinese Embassies and Consulates abroad.
5. Unable to cancel an Application.
Before “online review completed”:
If the application status is "Under Review," click "View" and select "Operation/Cancel" in the top right corner of the application form. If the status is "to be modified," you must resubmit the application. Cancellation will only be possible after the status changes to "Under Review", and takes approximately 1-2 business days.
After “online review completed”:
Applicants cannot cancel the application themselves and must pay a HK$240 service fee to our Center to terminate the process.
6. Unable to modify the online application.
If your application is rejected, please check your email for the rejection reason. Then log in to our Center website, scroll to the far right of the application, and select "Operation/Modify." Please note: If you are logging into another location's visa application center website, you will only be able to view the status and cannot modify it. Please also ensure that your browser's pop-up blocker is disabled.
7. Unable to resubmit the application online.
If you see "Do not click frequently" during submission, please carefully check that every item on the application form is complete. After confirm nothing is missing, wait a moment and try submitting again.
8. Unable to provide required application materials.
Consular officers may request supplementary supporting documents or conduct an interview, depending on the circumstances. If you are unable to provide the required materials, you can submit an explanation letter online, detailing the specific reasons for the inability.
9. Unable to receive or print the "Visa Application Certificate".
After “online review completed”, the system will automatically send a notification email and the Visa Application Certificate. If you do not receive it due to email settings issues, you can submit your application offline at our Center with a screenshot of your account page. Please note: an additional printing service fee of HK$20 will apply in this case.
10. Unable to submit offline.
After “online review completed”, please submit your application offline at the center as soon as possible to avoid it expiring. Expired applications will be terminated by paying a service fee of HK$240 to our center before a new application can be submitted online.
11. Final decision regarding the visa issuance.
Online review approval does not guarantee the visa issued successfully. The final result is subject to review after offline submission. Consular officers have the authority to decide whether to issue a visa, as well as the visa's validity, duration of stay, and number of entries, based on the applicant's specific circumstances.
