1. Before 31st Dec 2025, citizens of the following countries holding ordinary passport visiting China for business and trade, tourism, visiting family and friends, exchange and transit purposes, are exempted from Chinese visa and can stay up to 30 days:Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monacco, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Brunei, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan.
2. Bilateral Visa Exemption Policies(1) List of Agreements on Mutual Visa Exemption between the People's Republic of China and Foreign Countries, please see http://cs.mfa.gov.cn/zlbg/bgzl/lhqz/(2) According to bilateral visa exemption agreements, citizens of the following countries are exempted from Chinese visa and can stay up to 30 days except visiting purposes of work, study, news coverage, settlement etc.:
- Singapore;
- no more than 90 days within every 180 days: Thailand, Kazakhstan, Antigua and Barbuda, Georgia.
Foreigners change flights in China within 24 hours on the way to another country or region holding an interline ticket of an aircraft, ship or train:
- are exempted from Chinese visa if they do not go through China border;
- should apply an entry permit from China border inspection authority if they need to go through China border.
Europe (40): Albania, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The United Kingdom, Ukraine.
Americas (6): Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico, The United States.
Oceania (2): Austrilia, New Zealand.
5. You don't need a visa to travel to China if you have a residence permit issued by local public security office in China.
If you've applied for a long term visa (Duration of Stay 000 on your visa), please apply for your residence permit within 30 days from the date of your entry in a local police office Entry & Exit department.
6. You don't need a visa to travel to China if you are holding a permenant resident permit.
7. You don't need a visa to travel to China if you have an APEC Business Travel Card, including Virtual APEC Business Travel Card.
