1. Basic Documents
(1) Passport
The original passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the application date, have at least two blank visa pages, and remain valid for longer than the combined total of the visa validity and the intended duration of stay.

Photo: Applicants should upload a recently-taken color passport photo (within 6 months, bare-head, full face with ears, no jewelry) against a white background. Please ensure that you have uploaded the correct photograph of the person detailed in the application form when filling in the online appllication. Otherwise penalties can include refusal of entry or deportation. Please click here for the photo requirements.
(3) Proof of legal status (applicable for those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for a visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and copy of your valid certificates (KITAS/ KITAB/ Work Visa) of residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal stay provided by the relevant authorities of the country where the Visa Center is located.
(4) Copy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the last Chinese passport held and a copy of its data page.
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the copy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).
(5) For minor applicants under 18 years old, the following supplementary documents are required:
    a. Copy of the unabridged birth certificate of the applicant ;
    b. Copy of the parents' passports or ID cards ;
   c. An affidavit form non-accompanying parent(s) authorizing the travel (Parental Letter of Consent). This affidavit should contain the dates of travel and the parents contact information.

 

2. One of the following approval documents:

(1) Permit for Foreign Experts Working in China (copy) or Notification Letter of Foreigner’s work Permit in the People’s Republic of China (copy) issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts;

(2) Foreigners Employment Permit of the People’s Republic of China issued by Chinese government authority for Human Resources 

(copy); if your intended work period is 90days or less, you need to provide an Approval of Short-Term Employment for Foreigners Working in P.R.China (copy);

(3) Registration certificate of the resident representative office of foreign (regional) enterprises issued by related administrative department of industry and commerce (copy);
(4) An approval document for commercial performance (copy) issued by Chinese government authority for Cultural Affairs (only applicable to applicants for commercial performances in mainland China); if your intended performance period is 90 days or less, you need to provide an Approval of Short-Term Employment for Foreigners Working in P.R.China (copy) or Notification Letter of Foreigner’s work Permit in the People’s Republic of China (copy) ;
(5) Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (copy).

 

We kindly remind you that: Holders of Z-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.
