How long should be the remaining validity of my passport when I apply for a China visa?
Generally speaking, there should be at least six months left before the passport expires.
What would be the best time for me to apply for a visa before my planned departure for China?
It is advisable that you apply for your visa approximately one month prior to your intended date of entry into China, but not earlier than three months.
Can I enter mainland China if I am holding a valid Chinese visa?
If you are holding a valid Chinese visa, you should be able to enter mainland China through any port open to the foreign citizens.
Can I apply for a visa online?
It is not possible to apply for a visa through the Internet currently. You need to submit all the required application documents to the Visa Centre, and the Visa Centre staffwill thenhandle your application.
Is it permitted for someone else to submit my application to the Visa Center on my behalf?
According to the requirement of the Chinese Embassy, if you are exempt from fingerprint collection, you can entrust someone else to submit your visa application at the Visa Center. Otherwise you may need to come to the Visa Center in person to submit your application and your fingerprints may be collected. If you want to apply through a travel agency or someone else, the agency/entrusted person will be responsible to confirm with you about the submission and fingerprint collection.
