Step I :
All documents need to be legalised by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office(FCDO) or an FCDO authorised department first. Please go the FCDO website to check documents' requirements.
Generally documents issued by a British Government Department, e.g. the Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, etc.do not need to be notarised, and can be sent directly to the Legalisation Department of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office(FCDO), or an FCDO authorised department for legalistion. Other documents need to finish the notarisation before legalised by the FCDO.
Step II :
After finishing FCDO legalisation, please come to the Visa Centre for final legalisation. Please make the legalisation appointments on the Visa Centre's website before submitting the documents. The Chinese national can still choose to submit the civil legalisation application at the Chinese Embassy.
