Is it permitted for someone else to submit my application to the Visa Centre on my behalf?

Can I apply for a visa through a travel agency?

According to the requirements of Chinese Embassy and Consulate General, if you are exempted from finger-print collection, your application may be sumbitted by someone else on your behalf. If you want to apply through a travel agency, the agency will be responsible to confirm with you about the submission and fingerprint collection.

How long does it take to process a visa?

  It is highly recommended that you start the visa application at least one month in advance.  After submitting the application online, you need to wait for the online review completion, which usually takes at least 5-10 working days, or longer. Please note that online review completion does not mean you have been issued a visa. After that, you will need to submit your application at the visa centre.

Is the service fee the same for a child?

Yes. The visa processing procedure is the same for a child, who is an independent applicant or an accompanying applicant sharing the same passport with the principal applicant. Therefore, the child incurs the same amount of service fee.

Does a child need to fill out a visa application form as well?

As an independent applicant, the child needs to fill out a separate visa application form. However, if the child shares the same passport with a principal applicant, this is not required.

Do I need to apply for a Chinese visa if I holder a Singapore passport / I am a Singpore citizen, can I go to China without a visa?

From February 9, 2024, Singapore citizens holding ordinary passports will be exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days in China. Those who plan to engage in activities that require prior approval, such as work or news reporting must still obtain the corresponding visa before entry.

Can I extend the duration of stay of my visa in China

You may apply for an extension of the duration of stay of your visa at a local public security authority before it expires, but without an assumption that the application will be automatically approved. Overstay violates the laws of China and will be punished.

What if I lost my pick-up form?

 If the Pickup Form is lost, the applicant must collect the passport in person. When collecting the passport, please present an ID with your photo. If you are authorizing someone else to collect the passport, you should provide a letter of authorization, and the ID of both yourself and the authorized person.

What shall I do if I find the visa issued on my passport is wrong?

If you find mistakes in your visa after you have left the Visa Centre, please contact it immediately and follow the instructions given to you.
