Scope of Application

Persons entering China for long-term study (more than 180 days).

Documents to Upload for Online Review

• Passport: Information page and 2 blank pages;

• Photo: Recent, front-facing, color (white background), bareheaded, official ID photo.Click here to view photo requirements;

• Valid stay or residence certificate (for applicants not holding Mexican nationality). Mexican citizens may upload a scanned copy of their ID card or passport information page;

• Scanned copy of previous Chinese visa. Applicants with no prior visa records may upload their passport information page;

• For college and university students: Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Coming to China (Form JW201 or JW202); for primary and secondary school students: Confirmation Form for Educational Institutions in the Compulsory Education Stage Accepting Foreign Students Coming to China;

• Admission Notice.

Documents to Bring When Submitting Passport After Review Approval

• Original passport;

• 1 Visa Photo;

• Visa Application Confirmation;

• Valid Chinese visa (if applicable);

• Original Chinese passport (for applicants who previously held Chinese nationality and later acquired foreign nationality, applying for a Chinese visa for the first time).

Notes

• The personal information in the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students Coming to China must be completely consistent with the information in the applicant's passport;

• Holders must apply for a residence permit at the exit-entry administration of the local people's government at or above the county level within 30 days of entry into China.

Special Instructions

• Consular officers may, at their discretion, require applicants to provide additional supporting documents or supplementary materials, or conduct an interview with the applicant;

• Consular officers will decide whether to issue a visa, as well as the validity period, number of entries, and duration of stay based on the applicant's specific circumstances.
