Application Procedure
1. Preparing Documents as Required
The visa application documents include basic documents and other supporting materials.
2. Application Procedure
(1) Please visit the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (hereinafter referred to as the "Visa Application Centre") at https://bio.visaforchina.cn, select Austria, register, and log in. Follow the prompts to complete the "Visa Application Form" online, upload all required documents, and submit the application. After submission, the embassy or the Visa Application Centre may request additional documents. Please check the " Track My Application " regularly to stay updated on the processing progress. If the status showing “Passport to be submitted”, and you have received a confirmation email, you can submit your visa application documents in person, provide fingerprints, and pay the fees at the Visa Application Centre on working day 9:00am- 14:00 pm. (A detailed list of required documents is attached.)
(2) The following documents must be submitted in person at the Visa Application Centre:
a. Original passport;
b. Printed "Visa Application Certificate";
c. Printed and signed full-page "Visa Application Form";
d. Printed copies of all submitted application documents;
e. Two ID photos (colour, white background, taken within the last 6 months, front-facing, without headwear, in 48mm x 33mm size, no glasses with black frames).
(3) The applicant must visit the Visa Application Centre in person to provide fingerprints. The following applicants are exempt from fingerprint collection:
a. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
b. Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Austria with the same passport;
c. Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;
d. Applicants who apply for single and double entry business (M), tourism (L), short-term family visit to Chinese citizens (Q2), transit (G), and crew (C) visas.
** The Chinese Embassy kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred. **
e. All fees, including the visa fee, service fee, and any optional fees, must be paid in full at the time of submitting the application documents.
3. Collection
Applicants will be given a pickup form when submitting documents in person at the Visa application center. You must bring the pickup form for passport collection.
