In order to further facilitate visa applicants, from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, the Chinese Consulate-General in Edinburgh will exempt fingerprints collection for all short-term visa applicants who apply for single or double entry (duration of stay within 180 days).

To facilitate people-to-people exchanges, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the UK will continue to reduce the visa fees until December 31, 2025. The reduced fees are as follows: Remarks: Visa Service Fee remains unchanged.

Before 31st Dec 2025, citizens of the following countries holding ordinary passport visiting China for business and trade, tourism, visiting family and friends, exchange and transit purposes, are exempted from Chinese visa and can stay up to 30 days:Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium
