Visa application process
I. Fill in the form and print it.
Fill in the visa application form online on the website www.visaforchina.org (“Register”->“Login”->“Fill in the form”), save it as a PDF file when you finish filling it in, print it (the whole form) once filled in, sign it on the confirmation page and on page 6.
II. Present the documents in person at the Chinese visa center in Mexico.
Ordinary passport holders applying for Chinese visas must present their documents at the Visa Center for fingerprinting. For the required documents, please refer to the list of visa types and their documents (link visa types). The following visa applicants are exempt from fingerprinting:
(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;
(3) Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh with the same passport;
(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;
(5) Applicants who apply for single and double entry of short term visa (during of stay less than 180 days) from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025.
Special Tips
1) The Mexico Visa Center can accept Chinese visa applications for Mexican citizens with ordinary passports or citizens of other countries legally entering Mexico with ordinary passports. In accordance with bilateral agreements, holders of ordinary Mexican passports traveling to and staying in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (Non-Continental Zone of China) for no more than 90 consecutive days are exempt from applying for visas.
1) Diplomatic or official passports, or applicants for Chinese diplomatic, courtesy or official visas, should continue to submit their applications directly to the Consular Section of the Embassy of China in Mexico, which will continue to accept applications for notarized authentication, passports and travel documents.
2) Mexican citizens with dual nationality should use their Mexican passports to apply for Chinese visas.
3) The consular officer at the Embassy has the right to decide whether or not to issue a visa, as well as the type of visa to be issued, the number of entries, the period of validity and the length of stay, in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations, and has the right to personally interview the applicant without having to provide explanations.
4) Visa processing usually takes 4 working days. The express service takes 3 working days. It is recommended to apply for Chinese visa one month in advance.
5) The Embassy has the right to refuse to issue a visa to a person who has provided false information, who has not filled out the application form truthfully and completely, and in other cases deemed necessary by the consular officer.
